Thank you for visiting Gilded Lily Photography's blog! I'm so excited to have all my elements in one location on the website instead of five different ones floating around in cyberspace! For the site, I noticed a trend in photographers. The logo and branding is important, but it's also important to get your own face out there. I'm so used to taking the photos that I was a little flustered being the subject. I wanted all the work shown on my site to be mine, so I set out to have a self portrait session. My darling hubby Brian was my official stand in model so I could get the right settings, official tripod-dragger-arounder (yup, that's a technical term), and all around cheerleader. It was frustrating not being able to see the problems through my lens as they came up, but after an hour, I ended up with some fun pictures that I think express me as a photographer...I love black and white and planned to use that for myself, but then I realized that since bold, saturated color is a big thing for my work, I should let my redheadedness and peacock earrings speak for themselves. The fruits of my labor are currently in use as the banner, but a few pics I didn't use plus one of abovementioned hubby is included. Please enjoy...we had a wonderful sunny day to shoot and I'm happy that I won't frighten anyone with the final results. At least, I certainly hope not. ;)
